Public Opinion Survey Shows Low Confidence in Israel

(MENAFN) A recent survey suggests that most Israelis do not view the country as having achieved military success in any of the conflicts it has been involved in since the events of October 7, 2023.

According to reports, a poll released by Israel’s public broadcaster indicated that 57% of participants believe Israel has failed to secure victory on any front since that date. In contrast, 28% felt that the country had succeeded in at least one area of conflict, while 15% said they were unsure.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been engaged in multiple arenas of confrontation, including Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, while also conducting strikes in Syria and Yemen, along with ongoing military activity in the occupied West Bank.

Confidence in outcomes across these individual fronts was reported to be generally weak. Only a small share of respondents believed Israel had achieved success in Syria (17%), with similar low figures for Gaza and Iran (16% each). Perceptions were even lower regarding Lebanon at 14%, followed by Yemen at 12%, and the West Bank at 11%.

The survey also highlighted widespread concern about future security risks. A significant majority—73%—viewed the continued armed presence of Hamas and Hezbollah as a serious threat that could lead to a repeat of the October 7 events. Meanwhile, 10% rejected that concern, and 17% remained uncertain.

No detailed information about the polling methodology, including the sampling process or the firm responsible, was provided in the report.
