Gamescom 2025 kicks off strong in Germany
The event, organized by Koelnmesse and the German Games Industry Association, runs until Sunday across 233,000 square meters, the largest floor space in its history. Companies from 72 countries are showcasing new releases, immersive technologies, and merchandise ranging from cosplay to indie games.
This year features 50 Chinese exhibitors, up from under 40 in 2024. Grace Pan, senior project manager at Koelnmesse, noted that Chinese developers are presenting diverse titles, advanced production techniques, and elements inspired by Chinese martial arts and mythology.
On the eve of the fair, Chinese studio Game Science unveiled its latest title, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, at the Opening Night Live showcase, earning enthusiastic reactions from both the Cologne audience and global livestream viewers.
