Mohamed Salah Makes History as PFA Player
The 33-year-old outshone competitors including teammates Alexis Mac Allister, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and Arsenal’s Declan Rice to claim the prestigious award.
Salah, who previously earned the title in 2018 and 2022, was instrumental in Liverpool’s league triumph last season, helping the team finish 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal.
He led the Premier League as the top scorer with 29 goals and also registered 18 assists.
Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has netted 244 goals, elevating him to third place on the club’s all-time leading scorers list.
In addition to Salah’s recognition, the PFA named Aston Villa’s 23-year-old midfielder Morgan Rogers as the young player of the year.
Reflecting on his achievement, Salah stated, "This very special award hits different when we have an important trophy to go along with it."
He added, "Being champions is what matters and we will fight to do it again this season. I am incredible grateful to the players who voted for me."
